When can I be fitted?

You are welcome to stop by anytime you need us for information or support. We are always in the office Monday through Friday from 10am until 4pm, some evenings available upon request.

You will want to have your stitches out and be comfortable with the pressure of an actual bra before your 1st fitting - usually 4-6 weeks after surgery. There are post operative camisoles available to wear immediately after surgery if you want to have a feminine shape in your blouse while you are healing.

What can I expect from my first fitting?

We will privately fit you with post mastectomy bras (similar to regular fashion bras) that have pockets sewn into the cups to hold a breast prosthesis securely in place. Breast prostheses are made of medical grade silicone, in many different shapes, weights, and colors - just like us. Once you have been properly fitted - no one should be able to tell you have had breast surgery. We encourage you to bring along your spouse or a good friend for support and encouragement.

What about the cost?

Many women fear the cost of a fitting. Every woman in Ontario with a valid health card who requires a breast prosthesis due to surgery, qualifies for a grant from the Ministry of Health towards the cost of their full or partial breast prosthesis. In addition many women have extended health insurance through their employer. Elizabeth's will help you complete (and mail) all the necessary paperwork for both the grant and your private insurance. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and debit as methods of payment.
